Ruan is 26 and plays his 1st class cricket for the newly formed Limpopo 1st class franchise having previously played for Easterns and the North West Dragons. He is a classy top order batsman and a very adept right arm off spinner. He averages a shade under 30 with the bat and just 28 with the ball in 1st class cricket and in the short formats his stats are also very strong. Last season Ruan came over to play for Willington C.C. and after a blistering start to his season – scored 291 runs in 6 innings averaging 55 with a high score of 131 plus 10 wickets– he was forced home with an injury. Now fully recovered Ruan is keen to come back in 2024 and as a genuine all rounder with plenty of coaching experience behind him he would be a brilliant signing for any club in UK League cricket.
